Welcome to our Journey
During the eleventh and twelfth centuries people needed hope and they found it by taking pilgrimages to "holy" places. At that time there were three major pilgrimages: Jerusalem, Rome and Santiago de Compostela. Each one had it's own significance. For us, today, a pilgrimage, defined as a long journey or search of great moral significance, is more than just hiking to "holy" places, it is when we look deep within ourselves to find some significance in our lives. For some people this is nothing more than finding the right job; while others push themselves physically to achieve a goal.
With this in mind, we, Scott and Ren, have created this site. We have been researching pilgrimages and found one that has affected us substantially, the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela or El Camino de Santiago de Compostela. This was one of the three great Pilgrimages of the twelfth century.
It is our intention to one day make this pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela and we have created this site to help us organize and share our research. This project is very new, and the site consists mainly of links for now. As time goes by we are hoping to be a good source for others who are looking to journey along the Camino. Please feel free to contact us and let us know your thoughts.
